Joseph Henry Kelly

84, passed away March 12, 2016. He was born on September 11, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio. Joe graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts and received a Masters degree in Sociology from Bowling Green State University. After graduate school, he entered the US Army serving from 1953-1956, then transferring to the US Army Reserves. He worked for the YMCA in Ohio and Indiana. Upon leaving the YMCA, he worked as a Social Worker for RISE Special Services in Indianapolis. He retired from there in 1998.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon L. Kelly; only daughter, Shannon Kelly Klopfenstein (Todd); 3 grandchildren, Erich Klopfenstein (11), Barrett Klopfenstein (10) and Sean Klopfenstein (6).

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Faith Missionary Church, 9125 N. College Avenue, with funeral services immediately following. Memorial contributions can be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000 or Faith Missionary Church.
